The Country Where I Want to Live

I like to live in Barcelona, Spain if I can get a chance.

Barcelona is the second largest city as a port city in Spain and is the hometown of many famous artists including picasso.

Barcelona is very famous for masterpieces of Antoni Gaudi, the most famous architect in Barcelona, so there are many classic, splendid, unique, and antique buildings in the city. Architecture in  Barcelona is great. Many buildings date from the medieval period, and some are even older. I can think that the current and the past coexist and also feel their sophistication and magnificance. Barcelona is also a very popular tourist destination, with beautiful sandy beaches and an outstanding night life. When the sun sets, many people gather around the bar, club and pub. They are ready to stay up all night drinking and dancing in the club.

Barcelona is famous for its history and culture. Its cultural roots go back around  two thousand years. Barcelona is filled with numerous museums, so I can see historical and cultural artworks at the site and enjoy every day.  

 

However, the most popular product of Barcelona is definitely their football club, FC Barcelonaor simply Barca. I love soccer and watching soccer games or playing. I want to enjoy the soccer games with soccerholics at the barcelona stadium.


Monday to thursday, I will go traveling throughout the city, going sightseeing the tourist attractions. On friday, I will watch the sports game: soccer with a cool beer at stadium or at home. On weekends, I will enjoy the night life - hanging out with my friends at the bar or pub and dancing or drinking.

Divorced People Should Have Been Cafeful

  The rate of divorces in Korea is increasing continuously. There are some reasons why Korea has high rate of divorces.

  First of all, in the past, women had no power to express their opinions or emotions and they just followd men's decision. However, as society develops, women have economic and social status and can be independent.

  Second, many people are less ashamed of divorces than before. Divorce is not a taboo any more and is one of the person's rights.

  Next, if woman can't have a baby, they are more likely to get divorced. Because the men want their children to succeed to history, if women can't become pregnant, it can be the cause of divorces.

  Also, there are some people who get married for money and we call them fortune hunters. In addition, although the couples expect wonderful marriage life, but it turns out a disappointing marriage after getting married.

  For these reasons, the rate of divorces is increasing sharply for a few years and divorced couples think Marriage is death to a love affair. Some women even say remaining single is better than being a wife. However, marriage is an engagement for both family members, not for only a married couple and marriage is the happiest memory in their lives.

  In conclusion, the couple planning marriage should be more careful and more prudent.

 

Korea Is the Strong Power in Sports

 When many foreigners think about Korea, they describe Korea as the dangerous and devastated country after Korean war.
  However, Korea has hosted many international sporting events, Asian games in 1986, Olympic in 1988 and Worldcup in 2002 and Korea will host Asian games in 2014 and Pyeongchang winter Olympic in 2014. Being chosen as the site of winter Olympic games, Korea becomes the sixth nation to land the "grand slam" of international sporting events. After hosting many sporting events successfully Korea has bacome known as a strong country in sports. 
  Sports make many other foreign people feel positive on Korea and make them want to visit to Korea. Also, many sports stars such as Park Ji-sung and Kim Yu-na let them know Korea well. Korea is now small, but very famous country for sports, K-pop, hard-working, many cultural attractions and so on. In this regard, sports are very inportant.
  However, I also want them to recognize Korea as the country of courteous people in the East as well as the power country in sports. We learned to respect for adults and not to step on an elderly person's shadow. In addition, We bow to person who is older than us every time we meet and bow down to the ground on festival days when we visit adult relatives. It is only the most unique culture in Korea. That's why I hope the foreigners will know both of them.  

John's Opinion

  Korean people have inported goods, why?
  Most Korean people have a bluff, and they want to be special. If they god that kind of items, they think they are superior to other people who didn't get. Also, they think imported goods or foreign brands are better then normal items or brands although actually the quality of them is almost the same. In my case, if I have to choose one, I am more likely to choose imported goods. Because they look more expensive or luxurious than Korean brand especially in cars, clothes, or jewelry.
  Anyway, I usually shop online, because in general, it is cheaper and more convenient than offline shopping. There are so many websites and I can easily compare the prices between many competitive malls, so I can select the best item for me. However, there are side effects of shopping online. First, I might recieve the product different from which I ordered originally. The products are too exaggerated on the internet and I can't try it on. Second, it is hard to exchange or get a refund for the faulty products. If I want to get refund or exchange the items, I have to pay additional delivery fee. Next, I have to wait for the products until they are delivered. During this time, one day is too long to wait the items. Two days ago, I purchased the clothes in my favorite online shopping mall, however these items have not arrived yet. That's why I complained about slow delivery service. Whatever the reason is, online shopping mall will be more and more popural in the future. 
  I had a terrible experience on buying clothes online. When I was a freshman in highschool, I paid about 7000 won for the T-shirts made in Abercrombie. After washing the T-shirts one time, I have used them when mopping the floor. It turned out imitated clothes later. Since this experience, I have never purchased and will never purchase the cheaper clothes and imitated products saying Dr.martine st or Nike st.

Unification of North and South Korea

  There are several reasons why some people object to unification of North and South Korea.
First of all, since North Korea has low economic power, South Korea people have to pay a lot of money to unify a nation. That is, we have to support North Korea people although current economic situation is not so good. The population of North Korea is about 20~30 million, the half population of South Korea.
Second, we are very different as for the structure of a society. While South Korea is liberalism, North Korea is communism. Two nations have kept their society since they were saperated. If we unify, people are confused and can't adapt to new situation. Next, the pronounciation is also very different. One can't understand the other's words completely. It's been a long time to live on their own way.
 
  There are also some reasons why we have to unify. There are many many divided families and they really missed their families. Although there have been many campaigns for dispersed families, many can't find their families and even they don't know if their families are alive or not. Next, there are many advantages such as using underground resources, saving money, and developing North Korea country. North Korea has many underground resources like coal and oil. If we can use these, we will be competitive in world markets. Also we don't have to pay much money for national defense expenditures and then we can save much money and can use some of them on other things. Last, there are many undeveloped areas and there are many people in North Korea, they are all our property. If we construct line construction between South Korea and Europe, the economic situation in Korea will get better and better.

  Anyway I support the second opinion. Of course, I can't deny that if we unify, it costs about $50000 each person. However, we are koreans and we can compensate for that money by using resources and developing North Korea. I really hope Korea will be unified after I die.

I used to be addicted to Internet Games

  I used to be addicted to internet games when I was in middle school. After my mother went to work, I always turned on the computer, connected internet, entered my ID and password and enjoyed games. The game I really liked was 'fortress'. At that time, the student good at playing computer games was very popular among friends, because we usually had a good time while playing computer games together. That's why I played games crazy but I didn't know if I am addicted at that time.
  Many younger students are addicted to internet games and even many men are also addicted. Why are they drawn to these games? They are free enough to play computer games for a long time? There are many reasons about that. First, there are many game sites online and there are so many many games in these sites. Second, we can download the games free of charge and we can play easily. Third, in Korea, there is specific jobs about games. Last, by playing games, you can earn much money.
  Nowadays, the game company like NCSoft is comparable to other major companies and gets more and more bigger. They are trying to make new one like Starcraft or Warcraft most people like to play. The government made some regulations like cinderella law, it seems to be ineffective.
  Based on this situation, I guess more and more people will be addicted to something new but very addictive and game industry will get bigger and prosperous.

Global warming

The global warming is the most serious problem in the world.
However, Korean don't realize that seriously.
They are worried about it, but they still use air conditioner and use fossil fuels which make much carbon dioxide, CFCs, and other pollutants, finally increasing the world's average temperature. They, we are very selfish.
The global warming resulted in melting glacier, increasing sea level, changing rainfall, causing clmate changes and making many animals extinct by changing their places. It is an important problem we should solve. Then, how could we protect our earth from getting hotter?

If we stop the global warming, we have to do step by step. Firstly we have to grow many trees, seperate collection and spend less air conditioner. Also we have to walk short distance and don't throw litter.
However, actually I don't think that Korean including all of the people in the world will be able to stop global warming. They are already familiar with their life style and the issues of global warming, they don't care about it. The only thing we must do now is to be concerned about it.

suicide

I just searched "suicide" on Daum and Google right before starting to wirte this article. It is surpring and shocking because there are so many many sites about suicide and it is very easy to get much information. I saw the recent issue online today that one of the marines killed 4 soldiers using a gun and tried to commit suicide. There are so many these accidents about suicide around us and suicide has always been a big issue. Many factors affect on suicide such as indiffernce to someone in trouble, a lot of sites on suicide and  no interests on issues about suicide. I think the main reason is Internet.
As written above, it was very shocking to find any information about suicide and when I clicked on one of these sides, I could get much specific information about how to do that, for example dropping, falling, cutting your blood vessel, firing, and eating pills too much...  The probelm is there are no regulations or controls.
Related seaching words are these : the reason why people do that, very good pills or tools to do, how to do easily or without pain... It is very specific and easy to see and it is written very clearly.
The government must regulate and control to prevent someone from commiting suicide by closing websites.
There are also many counselling sites to help save thier life or solve the problem they have so the government should encourage or activate these helping sites.
Before commiting suicide, they did a specific behavior, so we should be concerned about people around us. If we have interests in people in trouble, we can prevent.

Actually, I have not been interested in issues of suicide very much. However, it is really severe problems and I realized I have to be concerned about that isuue.

Are there any products that should be restricted from being advertised??

There are many things that should be restricted from being advertised, such as cigarettes, alcohol, or lotteries.
Firstly, there are many smokers in a group of students and adults.
Korean has the highest smoking rates in the world especially on students' smoking.
The advertisements of cigarettes might affect on these figures substantially and made the students have a sense of curiosity. Actually, I had a first experience to smoke with curiosity when I was a middle school student.
The actors in advertising of cigarettes seemed like a gorgeous guy when I saw them.
Secondly, a beer looks very cool in advertising. Although it is so good and helps to circulate the blood in our bodies, it exaggerates too much like that if you drink it, you can be a cool guy like these actors.
I drank alcohol with expectatons  when I was a freshman in highschool. The first feeling was not as the same as I thought. It was not cool and tasted bitter.
Lastly, advertisements of lotteries should be also restricted. They make people have a dream of being the rich and spend a lot of money on buying them. In fact, it is impossible to be a winner.
In conclusion, it is just my opinion and it took 1 hour and a half to write these articles.

compare with my parents in regard to diligence?

My parents always get up at about 7 and my younger sister does at 6:30 and I get up at about 8.
My younger sister is the most diligent? and I am more lazy than the others? I am the laziest person in my family?
All family members except me work 9 to 6 or more than and I study english and others 9 to 9 ( of coure I don't study continuously, there are many break times)
Am I the most diligent and others are less diligent than me?
That doesn't make sense. I can't conclude, because all members have done so far and do best now.
However, I think my parents are more diligent than me. That doesn't mean I am sopiled.
Without their diligence, I can't study here in Seoultech and do what I want now.
With their diligence, I can study and do whatever I want now.

Hi, I am John

 Hi everyone, I am Ko Yohan.

Actually my name means John-one of the Jesus's students in Bible, but many people firstly thinks the word 'silent'.
Anyway my english name is John. I am 24 years old, my major is Safety Engineering and I am a junior student. I changed my major into Safety Engineering last semester, so I had a hard time.
I am a little active and outgoing, I like meeting new people, so this is the best opportunity to know all of you better.
I have lived in Nowon for 16years. That's why I have many friends in Nowon and know about Nowon well.
I like music and can play instruments- drum, guitar, and piano. I will play a song for all of you if i get a chance.
I also like sports like soccer, baseball, and basketball. I always played with my friends playing soccer or other sports when I was in elemantary school.
My hobby is reading books especially novels and internet shopping.
My english skill is very poor so I want to develop my speaking skill through this program.
